Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigation Division was created in 2005 to meet the need of a growing town to properly investigate the criminal cases that are reported.
The division is comprised of of Lieutenant, one Sergeant, and a Detective.
The function of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is to investigate all reported crimes. These crimes include:
  • Burglaries
  • Identity thefts
  • Narcotics
  • Robberies
  • Sexual assaults
Our investigators receive training in various levels of criminal investigation allowing them to work the crime scenes from start to finish and into court. Once the patrol officer arrives on scene and determines that an investigator is need, a member of CID arrives and takes over the investigation.
The CID unit also reviews the reports and further investigates case received. 
Investigators receive instruction and gain experience in the following areas:
  • Court presentations
  • Crime scenes
  • Death investigations
  • Evidence handling
  • Fingerprints
  • Sex crimes
  • Surveillance
CID strives to maintain a high conviction rate through professionalism, a strong working relationship with the community, and thorough investigations.
